Of late, I’m getting a sometime kick out a youtube channel called Lei’s Real Talk. She is a Beijingologist from the point of view of Falun Gong. Her analyses of what goes on the People’s Hall can be insightful if you filter out her hatred of the CCP and Xi Jinping. I can’t decide which she hates more. I rather hope she’s right about Xi Jinping. He’s trying to be a new emperor and he is upsetting the thrust of the CCP toward a rule-based order that otherwise could—maybe—become a rule of law. But per her, CCP and Xi are both headed toward collapse.
The damage Trump has done will take a mighty effort to undo, and a complete unwillingness to let bygones be bygones.
